A Renaissance Garden in San Quirico D’orcia

Montauk Residence

The historic 19th Century McKim, Mead and White property was in a state of disrepair until the new owners lovingly restored the house and hired McCobb and Associates to develop a plan for the restoration of the surrounding bluff landscape. New amenities were added such as a new pool, pool cabana, entertaining spaces, children's play areas and a woodland trail. However, the main focus of the plan was to restore the native vegetation of the bluff landscape and add spatial variety to the site. Mass plantings of native grasses and perennials were sited to accentuate the character of the rolling topography of the site and new spaces and pathways were carved out of the plantings.
